Sorry! A New Musical – Alpine Theatre Project

Sorry! A New Musical

Are you ready for hilarity at its finest? Then, you must check out this brand new musical coming to the Alpine Theatre Project entitled Sorry! A New Musical (It’s the Tits). Nope, that is not a misspelling……Whether you enjoy the typical theatre or not, this may be just the production for you.

Let me set the scene for you…..

Set in corporate America, “Sorry” is a side-splitting and honest new musical about a young woman named Carly who wants only to be taken seriously at her job. In tandem with her best friend Angela, Carly navigates her struggles with discrimination, confidence, love, and knowing her worth. While confronting the stark realities of family-planning, Angela deals with an over-the-top mother, and also manages to meet a super hot gynecologist along the way. “Sorry” is a show that will have you in stitches while also bringing to light the challenges that many women (and men) face when striving for recognition and respect in a condescending world.

“Join us for a debaucherous & hilarious new musical about mansplaining, menstruation, dieting, dating, and, well, boobs.” ~ Alpine Theatre Project

Website Hackers: Why Would They Attack Your Website?

Website Hackers Lock

Why would a hacker even consider bothering with your website when there are so many others to choose from on the world wide web? There are bank websites, credit card websites, large corporation websites….why would a website hacker look at a small business website in the Flathead Valley Area of Montana when there are so many bigger fish in the virtual sea to steal from?

Website Hackers Cell Phone

Website Hackers Are Not Attacking You Personally

It may not seem personal, but it certainly may seem that way if you have ever been hacked. In most cases, website hackers are not going to target your website because it is is your website. Website hackers do not care if you have a small shopping cart website selling jewelry or if you simply have a website for your Air Conditioning Repair Services or Roofing Company with information on your maintenance plans. Website hackers want the software powering your website. They are trying to sneak through the back door through a piece of software that is out of date or a compromised plugin with the ultimate goal of stealing sensitive customer data. They may also just want to hijack your website and use it for their own nefarious reasons.

“Website Hackers from around the world are always trying to break into servers and trying to break into websites. Hackers don’t care how big or small the site is, they just want to gain access to it.” ~ Brett Bauman, CEO of Planetguide.com

“Most websites, about 35% of all website, use WordPress. WordPress is popular because it is a secure platform that has lots of options to build a website, blog, or e-commerce site,” according the Brett Bauman, CEO of Planetguide.com. “But, because WordPress is popular, it will be popular for hackers too.”

Website Hackers Steal Money

What Does A Website Hacker Do With Your Information?

After a website hacker has gained access to the sensitive information, s/he can sell it or just hold on to it for ransom. The ultimate goal for most hackers is simply money; however, some are interested in the power of simply having the skills to hack a site. Hackers will also try to gain access to your website to create SEO spam or infect it with malware. SEO SPAM allows hackers to control keywords and can funnel traffic away from your site to another one. Malware infected websites can even be hooked up to others and become a network of virus spreading machines.

“Today, most website hacking is actually performed by machines working 24/7 looking for vulnerabilities. This is why it is important to always update all software, including plugins, and remove software that is out of date or unused.” ~ Brett Bauman, CEO of Planetguide.com

Quick Steps To Protect Your Website

  • Update everything from plugins to software
  • Use Two-Factor Authentication
  • Update Passwords Regularly
  • Only Use Software From Trusted Sources
  • Use WordPress Security logging

Website hackers area ready to target any website that is vulnerable. If they can gain access to your site and the information stored on the site, you can be a target for a hacker. But, the good news is that you don’t have to be hacked because there are lots of security measures that can help protect your site.

Great Northwest Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest

The Great Northwest Oktoberfest’s back … and we’re ‘goin’ to town!

The Great Northwest Oktoberfest is coming to town this September 23-25, 2021. This year’s fest will take place at three unique Whitefish, Montana, watering holes – the Great Northern Bar & Grill, Casey’s and the Montana Tap House. Each unique venue will host the wonderful Oktoberfest tradition on a specific date.

“Oktoberfest may look a little bit different this year, but it’s gonna be the real deal … great German food, beer. music and dancing, along with all of the usual Oktoberfest nonsense — stein-holding, log-sawing, chicken-dancing and the coronation of a new Hop.” ~Chamber director Kevin Gartland

Great Northwest Oktoberfest

Great Northwest Oktoberfest

Thursday, Sept 23rd is “Locals Night” — Bring an ID that shows you’re a Flathead Valley resident and you ‘ll get your first Hofbrau draft or Bayern brew free! It’s our Opening Night celebration … at The Northern!

Friday, Sept. 24 is the “Hop Queen Qualifier” — This year’s Hop Queen candidates will take to the stage (and dancefloor) at Casey’s to make their case for winning the 2021 crown!

Saturday, Sept. 25 is “Family Day” — Kids 12 and under (with parents) get in free for a full afternoon of festivities outdoors in the Montana Tap House Beer Garden

Music

It isn’t Oktoberfest with out polkas, oom-pahs & chicken dancing! Join us this fall for music by one of America’s most popular Oktoberfest bands … and traditional German schuhplattler dancers as well:

The Europa Band
One of the top Oktoberfest bands in the country — Europa — is back by popular demand for their ninth year, providing authentic Oktoberfest music like no other! John, Milan and Adam travel coast-to-coast each Fall playing at Oktoberfests from Montana to Florida and back again, cranking-out the oom-pah, polka and waltzes … along with a bit of country, gypsy fiddle and Carlos Santana!

Europa takes the stage from 5:30-11 p.m. on Thursday and Friday nights at Oktoberfest, and from 1-7 p.m. on Saturday. Check out the band and their music at: http://www.theeuropaband.com/

Schuhplattler Gruppe Alpenrose
New this year to Whitefish — but not to Oktoberfest — will be performances by Schuhplattler Gruppe Alpenrose, a traditional German folk dance troupe from Casselberry, Florida! Schuhplattler dancing features ornately-dressed performers stomping, clapping and slapping their shoes, thighs and knees in what Wikipedia calls “choreographed horseplay.” Two performances per night, the first weekend of Oktoberfest (Sept. 23-25 only).

MIA … The Western Senators
Much to our dismay, our original Oktoberfest Band — the Western Senators — are still being held hostage by COVID-19, and can’t make their way through the closed Canadian border to get here from Saskatchewan. We’re hoping they’ll be back with us is 2022; for info on the Western Senators go to: http://www.westernsenators.com/.

Food

This year’s Oktoberfest Grille will feature a variety of great German specialties. The menu is still being finalized, but here’s what we served-up in 2019, just to get your mouth watering:
