Taking place February 22-23, 2025, at 1530 W Springcreek Rd in Kalispell, MT, this thrilling event combines the excitement of skiing with the power and speed of horseback riding. Hosted by Flathead Cycle Riders, this annual competition brings together daredevil skiers, skilled riders, and fearless horses in a race unlike any other!

Tickets are on sale now, and you won’t want to miss this incredible experience. Whether you’re a competitor, a spectator, or a volunteer, there’s a way for everyone to join the fun!

What is Skijoring?

Skijoring is a unique winter sport where skiers are pulled by a galloping horse and rider, navigating obstacles, jumps, and sharp turns at high speeds. Rooted in Montana’s western traditions, Whitefish Skijoring dates back to the 1960s, making it a local favorite that blends adventure, competition, and Wild West energy.

This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever, with faster horses, higher jumps, and a larger crowd!

Are you ready to take the icy leap? The Penguin Plunge is back, and it’s bigger, bolder, and colder than ever! On February 8th, 2025, head to Whitefish City Beach and join a community of brave souls ready to dive into the freezing waters – all for a fantastic cause.

The Penguin Plunge is part of the Polar Plunge® series, a signature event of the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR). This fundraiser is not just about testing your courage; it’s about making a difference. Every dollar raised helps Special Olympics Montana provide life-changing opportunities for athletes with intellectual disabilities.

From sports training to health screenings and leadership programs, Special Olympics Montana fosters inclusion and empowers athletes both on and off the field. By taking the plunge, you’re directly supporting this mission and creating a ripple effect of positive change.

🚗 Parking Info: No on-site parking is available, but event buses will shuttle participants from First Interstate Bank Whitefish every 15 minutes starting at 9:00 AM.
