Brash Rodeo – Summer Series Rodeo

The Brash Rodeo Summer Series starts May 28, 2022, and will continue until September 10, 2022, at the Blue Moon Arena. The Blue Moon Arena is located at the Corner of US 2 And Hwy 40 in Columbia Falls, Montana. The rodeos all start at 6pm and will be filled with lots of great fun including bareback, saddle bronc, ranch bronc, bull riding, barrel racing , ladies and men’s breakaway roping, team roping, chute dogging, steer riding and even junior bareback.

Free Rodeo & Showtime Film Day

Come on out to the Flathead County Fairgrounds on May 22, 2022, from 9am until 9pm for a FREE rodeo and Showtime television show a chance to win an ATV and be part of one day of a television show filming. There will be free food trucks, live music, barrel racing, and raffle prizes. Throughout the day there will be hundreds of raffles, all those checked in at the start of the day will be eligible to win. Items to be given away include swag bags, gift cards, and a brand new Honda ATV TRX420FA2N.

Filming Details

EXTRAS NEEDED for the spectators at a rodeo for an episode of Three Women being produced by Showtime. Filming will take place on May 22nd from 9am to 9pm. Food trucks will be on site to feed all volunteers and there will be live music. Throughout the day there will be hundreds of raffles, all those checked in at the START of the day will be eligible to win. Items to be given away include swag bags, gift cards, and a brand new Honda ATV TRX420FA2N. Attendees are expected to stay the FULL DAY to receive gift cards or prizes. All prizes will be available for pickup at the end of the filming day. A valid ID will be needed to pick up your prizes. The story takes place in 2014 so please do not wear any clothing or accessories that show band tour dates, political candidates, sport championships, etc. If the weather looks like it will be bad on Sunday, filming will take place on Saturday. Dress To The Nines

On May 19, 2022, from 6 until 9pm, come on out to the Snowline Acres for Dress To The Nines and Dine for the Flathead Youth Home. This will be a start studded evening all to support our community’s youth. There will be a catered dinner by Forage Catering, Hosted Bar, Live Music, Silent and Live Auction. This year’s Dress To The Nines theme is Starry, Starry Night!

“One of our amazing past residents will share a story followed by a rousing live auction with some exciting adventure opportunities. We will close out the evening with a paddle call in support of the kids at the Flathead Youth Home.”

Spring Festival Mahler 5 and Mozart

On Saturday, May 14 and Sunday May 15, 2022, the Spring Festival Mahler 5 And Mozart will take place at the Flathead High School Performance Hall. In celebration of Maestro Zoltek’s 25th season, Glacier Symphony Orchestra and Maestro Zoltek will have concerts featuring Gustav Mahler’s monumental Symphony No.5 in C # minor for large orchestra composed in 1902. This powerfully expansive, technically demanding 5-movement masterpiece includes the exquisitely beautiful Adagietto, one of Mahler’s most popular movements said to be a musical expression of love to his wife, Alma. Our concert will open with a piano concerto by Mozart featuring piano soloist Robert Satterlee, originally from the Flathead!

About Glacier Symphony

The Glacier Symphony, Orchestra and Chorale, is one of the most active performing arts organizations in the inner-mountain northwest. Located in Montana’s beautiful Flathead Valley, the symphony produces a yearly Masterworks season of subscription concerts, educational programming for area schools, the family-friendly outdoor Symphony Night at Rebecca Farm, exclusive special events, and the region’s only weeklong classical music series, Festival Amadeus. Join us as we explore the finest in classical music!

The Glacier Symphony, Orchestra and Chorale has its roots in the 1970’s when the Performing Arts Council was formed from a core of music lovers in the Flathead Valley. The Council sponsored recitals and summer concerts in the Valley and later formed The Hockaday Chamber Orchestra, which performed a series of concerts. 5k for the Kids

On Your Marks! Get Set! Go! The Make A Wish Foundation’s 5k for the Kids will take place at the PTA Physical Therapy Clinic on Whitefish State Road in Kalispell, Montana, on Saturday, May 14, 2022. The event will be filled with family-friendly fun including a silent auction and a BBQ for participants. This race will not be chip timed, it’s a fun run to raise money for the kids! All proceeds will go to the Make a Wish Foundation.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Montana

Community Based Program
This is the “traditional” BBBS model in which a mentor (Big) and a mentee (Little) meet 2-3 hours each week outside of the home and school setting. Our Bigs make arrangements with the parent(s)/guardian(s) for a weekly activities with the Little. These outings can be as simple as a walk to the park to throw a frisbee or a trip to the local art studio to paint together. We know that the specific activity is not important, what is important is consistency, kindness, and a desire to grow together.

School – Based Program
Site-Based Programs: Our School Buddies program is designed to allow mentors to meet an elementary student at their school during normal school hours. Bigs meet their Littles for one hour each week, often during lunch and/or recess, for activities such as shooting hoops on the school playground or visiting the school library for board games. High School students are eligible to serve as mentors in this program

Our Site-Based Plus: is the same program as our School Buddies, an hour a week together at the Little’s school, with the addition of an opportunity to meet off school campus one time each month for an activity in the community. We see this is our best of both worlds program.

Spring Into Safety – Kid’s Day

Are you ready for a fun, FREE event for kids? On Saturday, April 7, 2022, starting at 11am, head on over to Northwest Montana Fairgrounds the 6th Annual Spring into Safety Kid’s Day. This free event is all about kid’s safety starting with Roundup for Safety providing more than 1,000 free bicycle helmets. Plus, kids are invited to bring their bikes for a maintenance check, and they can even check out the MHP road safety course. There will also be kid’s games, face painting, bouncy houses, and other activities. In addition, there will be more than 30 community programs, A.L.E.R.T. and Tow Bear Air Helicopters, Area Police, Fire, EMS and Search & Rescue will all be available to answer questions.
