There is nothing like a weekend filled with arts, crafts, music, food and fun. The Hockaday Arts in the Park festival is certainly a local favorite. This festival is one of the longest running arts festivals in Montana. The festival is held in the Kalispell Depot Park in the center of Downtown Kalispell Friday through Saturday, July 15 to 17, 2022. Guests will expect to enjoy juried art and craft booths, food and specialty booths, live music and entertainment, premium wine and beer garden and lots of fun children’s activities.

Hockaday ARTS IN THE PARK Details

Arts in the Park is a benefit event for the Hockaday Museum of Art. All admission proceeds support the Museum in its mission and programs.
For your safety, Arts in the Park will be following all CDC and health department requirements regarding COVID-19 health requirements including masking, social distancing and increased sanitization measures.

Admission is $5 for a 3-day unlimited pass (which also grants you admission to the Museum during or after the festival), and children under 12 are free. Buy your pass button in advance at the museum! Learn more about the Hockaday Arts in the Park – HERE.

Hockaday Museum of Art

The cultural history of the Flathead Valley and Glacier National Park
The Hockaday Museum of Art itself is housed in a stunning classical-revival-style building, originally erected as the town library in 1901. In addition to rotating exhibits, it has a permanent “Crown of the Continent” exhibition that features 15 historic Glacier National Park murals, as well as work from some of the best-known Western artists, including Charles M. Attention Trunk or Treaters….there is blue light special in the Kmart Evergreen parking lot……

On Saturday, October 30, 2021, starting at 2pm and ending at 5pm, the Flathead County Sheriff’s Posse will be at the Kmart Evergreen parking lot for a little Halloween fun. First responders, local businesses and community partners will all be coming together to celebrate in a fun and safe way for the holiday. So, put on your costume or just your Halloween spirit and come out and enjoy this wonderful community event.

About the Sheriff’s Posse

Today’s Sheriff’s Posse works closely with Flathead County Sheriff’s Department and is made up of volunteers who care about and want to serve their community. The primary objectives of the Flathead County Sheriff’s Posse are the following:

To support the Sheriff in his service to the citizens of the county.
To preserve crime scene evidence.
To aid in natural disasters and evacuation efforts for protection of the public.
To provide security at the Northwest Montana Fair.
To provide crowd control at large community events.
To provide security at High School Sporting events.
To support other Law Enforcement Agencies throughout Flathead County such as Kalispell, Bigfork, Whitefish, and Columbia Falls.

Trick or Treat at The Springs

Trunk or Treat at The Springs

Get ready…..Trunk or Treat is coming to The Springs at the Whitefish Parking Lot on Friday, October 29, 2021, from 4pm until 6pm. The vehicles will arrive and set up their trunks for treating. There will be prizes for most creative trunk and best costume. Trunk or Treat Guests will enjoy music, photobook and tons of fun. Bring the kiddos and enjoy good old fashioned Halloween fun!

4th Annual Harvest Havoc

4th Annual Harvest Havoc

On your marks…Get Set…Come on out to the 4th Annual Harvest Havoc presented by Action Rentals. This event will take place at the Kokomos’ ATV Park -6235 Highway 93 North (Mile Marker 141.5) about 11 miles north of Whitefish, and 7 miles south of Olney. Participants will get to have some fun a MX-style twisty jumpy track. Action Rentals will bring ATV (four-wheelers), UTV, Tough Truck, and Motorcycle bouts for adults. For children 6 to 17 years old, Action Rentals will bring ATV (four-wheeler). New this year is that the group is inviting children’s motorcycle racers too.  Learn more – HERE

Race Registration
Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m and end at 12:00 p.m Sharp! Racing begins at 1:00 pm

Race Registration Fees:

Adults (18+): $50 per driver, per class

Jr’s (13 – 17 yrs): $10

Kids (12 and under) Free

There will be food vendors and a beer garden provided on site. Please refrain from bringing coolers. Please do not bring your fur babies to this event. We would hate to see them harmed or lost in the surrounding woods. Thanks for your understanding.

Pit Passes:

Must be with a driver to obtain. No exceptions. Drivers your Pit Crew may consist of 2 Crew Members. Pit Passes are $15 for each person. MUST BE 18 OR Older to be in pit except and only during the time of youth races, youth will have to clear the pit after each youth race. If you have special considerations or needs, please contact us directly to discuss.

1) Online Form and payment

2) Email request and return: Send an email to info@actionarentalsmt.com to get the registration information, rules and regs and all updates to the event.

3) In-person on race day.

Libby, Montana

Libby Montana City of Eagles

The city of Libby in Montana is known as the “City of Eagles,” and was settled in the 1880’s, Libby has about 2,750 residents and is located on Kootenai River shadowed by the Cabinet Mountains.

The city has a long history of mining and timber industry, but has transitioned over the years to tourism. As a city known as the City of Eagles, several eagle sculptures can be found around town including three 60 foot eagles.

From hiking and fishing to great food, skiing, camping and shopping, Libby is a great place to explore. Stop by the Libby Heritage Museum and check out an original locomotive, view the beautiful waterfalls at Kootenai Falls, and then see if you have what it takes to cross the Kootenai Falls Suspension Bridge.

 

Explore Libby, Montana

Do you like hiking? Libby has over 200 trails where you can explore and see nature peacefully. You can walk through ancient cedar groves that are lined with giant ferns or you can explore The Kootenai. Kootenai Falls and the Kootenai Falls Suspension Bridge are both a site to behold.  If that is not enticing enough, the wildlife is amazing offering great opportunities to catch a glimpse of Bighorn sheep, white-tailed deer, mule deer, moose, elk , black bears, bobcats, mountain lions, osprey and of course bald eagles.

Libby, Montana Kootenai Falls

Do you enjoy fishing, boating and hunting? The Kootenai River flows year round because of the Libby Dam which means there are great opportunities for the fishing enthusiast.  Lake Koocanusa likes half way between the US and Canada. It has over 200 miles of accessible shoreline which is perfect for boating. Hunting is a way of life in Montana and the hunting in the Kootenai is great with over 6,000 acres to explore.  There are also hundreds of campgrounds to choose from in the area. If you like golf, check out the 18 hole course at the foot of the Cabinet Wilderness. 

Libby Kootenai Suspension Bridge

How about skiing and snowmobiling? Libby is not crowed which means you can choose your own adventure as you cross-country ski through groomed trails with spectacular views of Yaak and Kootenai. Grab a helmet and explore the area on a snowmobile. Each ride is unique offering an experience that will be remembered. Turner Mountain has over 300 inches of snowfall per year. It is a volunteer run located 23 miles north of Libby with one double chairlift and about 300 acres. The mountain is open Friday through Sunday only so plan ahead. 

Libby Montana Museum

Is shopping and eating more of your style? If you like antiquing, there are some great deals in Libby. Stop by Left Hand Antiques and Curios, Red Barn Antiques and even the thrift stores. You may find a treasure that you must add to your collection. There are lots of great gift shops filled with local hand-made items from quilts to huckleberry jam. You will not go hungry in Libby with great local restaurants like Henry’s Restaurant, The Last Straw Café, and the Burger Express….just to mention a few. Ask the locals, they will tell you a great place to stop in for a bite.  Don’t forget to stop into the Heritage Museum, it is a wonderful place to explore and learn about the history of Libby, Montana.
